SVP Teens is a youth philanthropic project that engages SVP members 7th-12th grade kids in a six-month curriculum to learn about issues facing ‘at risk’ youth in Minnesota.

The skills learned are: writing grant guidelines, evaluating proposals, conducting site visits, reading financials and volunteering time for a hands-on service.

The purpose of the program is to teach our children about philanthropy at an early age with a goal of instilling the desire to give throughout their lives.

In May 2006, The Bridge was selected as the SVP Teens first grant recipient. The organization serves youth by providing shelter, safety and hope for runaway and homeless youth. The grant money went to support a summer retreat program.  

This year the program doubled in size as was opened to SVP Teens friends.
