LEARNING LUNCH SERIES
Intimate, monthly ‘dialogue based’ gatherings focusing on issues facing our community and innovative approaches to philanthropy. Topics in past have ranged from discussions about Micro Grants and closing the “Learning Gap” to building character in our youth and innovative new models of education.

2008 Learning Lunches
During 2008 Social Venture Partners will again offer the series of topical education events we call Learning Lunches for our partners, investees, and friends. This year we focus on early childhood development featuring early childhood development practitioners, academics, and policy advocates as our presenters. Please join us for these opportunities to learn what is needed and what is working in preparing our youngest Minnesotans for success.

2007 Learning Lunch speakers:
Last year our Learning Lunches focused on issues of adolescent development and education. Our speakers were: Scott Beaty, Minnesota Youth Intervention Programs Association; Peter Benson, Search Institute; Ellen Mitchell Gallagher, Marjorie Weil Mitchell and Marvin Edward Mitchell Foundation; Judith Kahn, Youth Coordinating Board, City of Minneapolis; Dr. Kathy Lentz, Twin Cities United Way; and Jennifer Skuza, Professor, University of Minnesota.
